This classic dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher Annie Sullivan, and her blind and mute student Helen Keller. Only Annie realizes that Helen’s mind and spirit yearn to reach out from the dark silence in which she is living. In scenes of physical and emotional intensity, the single, glorious word “water” finally brings the two together. Directed by George A. Scranton, designed by Don Yanik.
