Nationally Ranked

Nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report and committed to the Christian faith, Seattle Pacific University is a place where rigorous academics and faith meet. With world-class faculty from a wide variety of Christian traditions and many service and ministry opportunities, students learn to use their intellect — and their faith — to engage the culture and change the world for Christ.

Faith in the Classroom

The Seattle Pacific academic experience opens doors for students to learn about the Bible, the history of Christianity, and theology. In the “University Foundations” core classes, students explore spiritual formation and vocation, learn to understand and practice Scripture, and study Christian traditions alongside a caring faculty of leading theologians and biblical scholars.

But no matter the field of study, SPU classrooms are places to grow academically and wrestle with challenging topics in the context of the Christian story.

SoulCare Wesleyan Small Groups

In 2016, SPU launched SoulCare small groups, a spiritual practice rooted in SPU’s Wesleyan heritage. At each SoulCare meeting, freshman students gather with a trained mentor and ask each other, “How goes it with your soul?” This deep question invites students to listen and share their thoughts, questions, and worries in a transitional season of life.

Engaging the World

At Seattle Pacific, a Christ-centered community propels ministry and service beyond campus. Students find many opportunities to put their faith into action both locally and internationally.

Urban Involvement

Urban Involvement facilitates weekly service opportunities, including tutoring and serving at a homeless shelter.

Latreia

At Latreia, our quarterly service day, we match students’ passions, gifts, and studies with volunteer opportunities in the local community.

Sprint

Through SPRINT (Seattle Pacific Reach-out International), students can serve internationally each summer, engaging in community development, justice, and reconciliation.

SPU encourages students to find a church to call home. Every fall, representatives from local churches come to campus, so students can explore options and coordinate transportation. University Ministries also maintains a church database.
