Caroline Maurer
Caroline Maurer, director of global engagement, has taught undergraduate students for over 20 years. During that time, she has served as director of teacher education; associate dean of education; and dean of business, education, and social sciences. She has created various new programs, including an Academic English Program to serve international students. Dr. Maurer holds a doctorate in Teaching and Learning from Ohio State University and has visited dozens of schools around the world.
Over the years, Dr. Maurer has traveled to more than 30 countries. In addition to travel, she enjoys children’s literature and developing curriculum that includes experiential learning. As part of her learning journey, she enjoys traveling with students to places like Algeria, France, Switzerland, Austria, India, and China.
In 2019, she became the director of SPU’s Office of Global Engagement, bringing together her passions for international education, study abroad, and preparing students to be global citizens.
