  • Welcome Dearborn Park Elementary School Fifth Graders

    On Thursday, October 22nd,  SPU will be hosting Going to College in the Fifth Grade.  The library is proud to take part in this experience.  Dearborn Park Elementary School 5th graders will be doing some research and activities in the library between 10:00 a.m. and  12:30 p.m.  Please help us to welcome these prospective college students.  Also, be aware that their enthusiasm may mean that the library is a little less quiet than usual during this time.

  • Special Collections Exhibit

    Come view SPU's new special collections exhibit for 2015, "Bibliotheca Senkleriana: The Library of the Rev. Edmund John Senkler (1802-1872), a Nineteenth-Century Clergyman and Amateur Scientist". Rev. Senkler's books are available for viewing on the second floor, in the display case on the south wall.  See Librarian Steve Perisho's annotated guide for further details about each item on display.

  • Summer Break Hours

    During Summer Break, from August 15th through September 27th, the Library will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and closed on weekends.

  • New CD Browsing Collection

    The Library’s collection of recorded music on CD is now located on the main floor of the Library, immediately to the right upon entering the building. Browse and check out an incredibly diverse array of titles, from classical, jazz, rock, folk, soundtrack, and various other genres.

    Read for pleasure during the Summer! Our Popular Fiction Collection, displayed in the Reading Room on the main floor, contains approximately 90 titles that have been individually selected for this browsing collection. Stop in, pick something out, and indulge.

  • Summer Hours

    During Summer quarter, The Library will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are closed on Sundays. On August 15th, the Library moves to Summer break hours, and will be open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed on weekends.

  • Outdoor Reading Day

    Martin Square, 10:00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. It’s sunny out and 80 degrees! Join us outside for cookies, a Capri Sun, and some study time in Martin Square.Reserves items will be allowed outside of the library in the Square for this time. Look out for a free book cart and a Pop-up Popular Fiction Library – books can be checked out at the outdoor desk.We hope to see you there!
