|Closure of Northbound Ballard Bridge On-ramps Starts TODAY|
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will close the northbound on-ramps from the Nickerson/Emerson interchange to the Ballard Bridge from July 7 to July 19 as part of the Elliott/15th Avenue West paving project. The ramps will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A detour route will be posted. Detoured traffic will use the southbound ramps to 15th Avenue West, drive south on 15th to West Dravus Street, and at Dravus Street will turn around and head northbound on 15th Avenue West. Drivers should expect delays when traveling westbound on West Nickerson Street and eastbound on West Emerson Place, as well as on 15th Avenue West north of the West Dravus Street interchange. |Mileage Rate Increase|
Due to recent gasoline price increases, the IRS announced that they will increase the standard business mileage rate for reimbursing business travel expenses beginning July 1, 2008. The new rate for July – December 2008 will be 58.5 cents per mile, which is eight cents more than the January – June 2008 rate of 50.5 cents per mile. |New Rules for FlexPasses|
The 2008–2009 FlexPasses are now available in the Office of Safety and Security. FlexPasses are available Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. If you are unable to come into the Security Office during these times, make an appointment by contacting Program Coordinator Rebecca Taylor-Richardson at firstname.lastname@example.org. FlexPasses are available to all full-time (.75 FTE and above) employees who use alternative transportation as part of their commute at least three days a week. FlexPasses may only be used by employees who meet these qualifications and are non-transferable. If you have any questions regarding the FlexPass, SPU''s Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) program, **or** would like more information on developing an alternative commute, visit the SPU CTR website.
|Perkins Center Announces Summer Speakers Series|
