|Lee Sabbatical Lectures|
Associate Professor of Family and Consumer Science Jaeil Lee was the guest lecturer at several universities in Korea during her spring sabbatical. She talked about global trends of fashion and product development at Chungnam National University, Korea University, and Jeju National University in Korea. She also served as a discussant for the Korean Society of Consumer Studies annual meeting at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea.
|Kelly's New Novel|
Communications Specialist Clint Kelly''s third book in the “Sensations Series" features a poisoning, an attempted kidnapping, an acid-tongued food critic, and a citywide food fight. Inspired by Seattle''s FareStart training program in the culinary arts, Delicacy is a thriller of taste and suspense. The book is now available at the SPU Bookstore and on amazon.com.
|University Communications Staff Members Volunteer at FareStart|
University Communication (UC) staff members, along with family and friends, volunteered as guest waiters at FareStart restaurant on June 19. FareStart is a nonprofit organization in downtown Seattle that operates a unique job placement and training program in the culinary arts benefiting homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and youth. In addition, UC contributed $220 to the program. This is the second time UC has volunteered at the restaurant.

Professor of Music Eric Hanson was quoted in The Seattle Times on June 20 about the upcoming Seattle Symphony concerts featuring the beginning and ending movements of Wagner''s opera "Tristan und Isolde." Hanson gives a lecture before each concert.
