Church Match and Valedictorian Scholarship Deadlines
The Church Match and Valedictorian scholarship applications need to be received by SFS no later than October 15th. If your church is giving you scholarship money, you may be eligible for the church match scholarship too. SPU will match up to $500 ($167 per quarter maximum) of your church scholarship if they are approved for the program. If you were the Valedictorian at your high school and this is your first year at SPU, you are eligible for the Valedictorian Scholarship. Student Financial Services needs to receive a letter from your high school counselor or principal verifying your status as Valedictorian by October 15th for you to receive this one time $1500 scholarship. Dreamworkers.org $500 College Scholarship Award
Dreamworkers.org is offering $500 in scholarships to students who are maintaining a 2.5 grade point average. To apply you must submit a 500 to 1000 word (max) essay on what your dreams and goals are and how you plan on achieving them. Students will be selected on the basis of their essays. Please submit this essay via email at scholarships@dreamworkers.org no later than October 30. For more information contact Glenda Ellingson, glenda@spu.edu.

All-Ink.com College Scholarship Program
All-Ink.com is offering $10,000 in scholarships to qualified students who are enrolled in an accredited college. Eligible students must be a permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 GPA average. To apply you must submit a 50 to 200 word (max) essay on who has had the greatest impact on your life and a 50 to 200 word (max) essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after college. Intercultural Bridge Retreat
On Friday and Saturday, October 17th-18th, members of the SPU community from various cultural backgrounds will come together to explore and celebrate their uniqueness. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join us at Camp Casey for food, fellowship, and fun as we reflect and dialogue about the impact of culture on our personal identity and relationships with others. Cost is $10 per person. Meet in the SUB Gazebo Room Oct 17th at 5:00 p.m. Sign-ups are in the ASSP office. For more information contact Lynn Van Antwerp, lynnva@spu.edu.

MuKappa: Calling all Missionary Kids and Third Culture Kids
Who are we? We are a cadre that is especially for Missionary Kids and Third Culture Kids, but any one is welcome to join us. What do we do? We meet once a week and listen to speakers, swap stories, play games, and have fun. We have international dinners once in a while and go on retreats every quarter. When and where do we meet? Come join the fun every Monday night at 9:00 p.m. in Weter Lounge. All are welcome! For more information contact Aaron Siirila, asiir@spu.edu.

Do you like to meet people? Be creative? Encourage others? Use your hands to share your heart? CONNECT! Come to Connect, where you can put your creative juices to work around a conversational table! Bring any card-making supplies you have. Paper will be provided. Come for an hour of creativity oriented at building up members of the SPU community. Cards made at each meeting will be sent to SPU folks in need of encouragement. For more information call Jen or Mindy at the Student Counseling Center or email Mindy at abenrm@spu.edu. Or simply join us from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Watson 151 on the following afternoons: October 9 and 23 - November 6 and 20 - December 4.

Papers and Tests from Spring and Summer Quarter
If you think you may have papers or tests from a Spring or Summer 2003 Theology, History or Political Science course please pick them up in Alexander Room 102 by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct 24. After that date, all remaining papers will be destroyed. For more information visit Alexander Room 102.
