Summer in Spain
This year will be the 17th annual SPU/Spain summer program! The program is through the University of Salamanca and will last from June 28 to July 31, 2006. Applications are now available for this 10 credit program in History and Language. Only 20 students will be accepted on a first apply/accepted policy until the group is full. Biology Credit in Belize this December
There is still a little bit of time to sign up for the December 10-23 study tour to Belize. We will be studying tropical marine biology and get 5 credits of either BIO 1100 or BIO 4950 for a cost of $3,580. Brochures and applications are available in the Science Building Office and the SUB bulletin board. You will need to make a $1,250 payment immediately to secure a position.
Europe Trip: France & Spain
Register now for the "Paris, Loire Valley, and Barcelona" tour set for July 13-24, 2006 including Paris, Versailles, Chartres Cathedral (famous stained glass windows), grand ch‚teaux in the Loire Valley, the Dordogne region (prehistoric cave paintings), the Medieval walled town of Carcassonne, Salvador DalÓ's Museum in Figueras, Spain, and GaudŪ's Church of the Holy Family in Barcelona. The trip is open to students, adults, and friends. A $95 registration fee holds your space and, if paid by December 6, 2005, locks in current rates: $3,600 (student rate: under age 24) or $4,025 (adult rate: age 24 or older). Rates include RT airfare, hotels, two meals/day, ground transportation, museum entrances, and a guide. Final payment is due March 1, 2006. Alternate flight arrangements may be made for an extended stay. Please note that ACIS (American Council for International Study) is the facilitator for this tour, not SPU. Stories of Thanksgiving
For our Thanksgiving community celebration on Tuesday, November 22, we will be sharing stories of thanksgiving. As a community member of SPU, you're invited to submit your personal story of thanksgiving; three of these stories will be shared in our service. Stories should be autobiographical and 500-700 words.
