The Deadline is Just Around the Corner!!
The deadline to apply for the SPU Young Alumni Council Scholarship is just around the corner! Are you an active volunteer in the Seattle community? Do you succeed academically? The Young Alumni Council of Seattle Pacific has established a scholarship for SPU seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement and a commitment to volunteer service off-campus. Scholarships will be awarded to students who excel in the classroom AND in the community. Applications are due Wednesday, March 29th. Current juniors may apply by downloading the application at: http://advance.spu.edu/yac/docs/YAC%2006-07%20Scholarship%20Application.pdf. Applications can also be found in the SFS office. You're almost out of time!!
The deadline to turn in your application for an Independent Colleges of Washington (ICW) scholarship is coming up. There are 7 scholarships available to students attending private colleges in Washington. Award amounts range from $850 to $2,500. Applications for all these scholarships can be found in the SFS office located in lower Demaray. All applications and materials are due to ICW by March 17, 2006. Ruth C. Bartells & Geraldine E. Kelsch Memorial Fund Scholarships
The Ruth C. Bartells & Geraldine E. Kelsch Memorial Fund Scholarships are two different scholarships awarded to women attending a college or university within Washington State who has completed at least two quarters of post secondary education, is enrolled full time and has a minimum GPA of 2.8. Applications are available in to SFS office located in lower Demaray. Applications are due April 20, 2006. If you have any questions please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.

BECU Foundation 2006 Scholarship
The BECU Foundation 2006 Scholarship is an opportunity for BECU members who hold a primary account and are either graduating high school or is enrolled as an undergraduate student. Applicants must be full time students with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applications can be found in the SFS office and are due March 31, 2006. Some restrictions apply so check your eligibility before applying. If you have any questions, please contact Whitney Kruse at krusew@spu.edu.

Non-Profit Internship Opportunity
If you are hoping to do a spring internship at a non-profit organization, but can't afford for it to be unpaid, we have a solution ... $1,000. Apply for a Lilly-funded stipend available to students interning at qualifying non-profit organizations. The deadline is March 1st so get an application and more information on the Internship Fund webpage: http://www.spu.edu/internshipfund!!

SPU Internship & Job Fair
The annual SPU Internship & Job Fair is a not-to-be missed opportunity! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 28th from 11:30am-2:30pm. The event will take place in Upper Gwinn Commons. Students can gather information, make contacts and possibly get hired on the spot! For a complete list of employers attending the fair visit: http://www.spu.edu/internfair. Don't forget to dress professionally and bring copies of your resume.

Nursing Career Fair
On Thursday, March 2, 2006, from 1:00pm-4:00pm the School of Health Sciences will host a nursing career fair in Upper Gwinn Commons. Recruiters from 20 Puget Sound area healthcare organizations will be available to speak with students about health related job opportunities. All nursing and pre-nursing students are encouraged to attend. Although the focus will be nursing related jobs, all students interested in health care employment are invited.
