Brougham Pavilion is the site of the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games gymnastics competition, July 3–5. Each day includes two sessions, and all sessions are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, July 3: All-around

• Awards: 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 4: Balance beam, floor exercise finals

• Session 1: 9:30 a.m.
• Session 2: 11:25 a.m.

• Session 1: 9:30 a.m.

Over the years, Brougham Pavilion has been the site of numerous major gymnastics events, including the NCAAs and USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships.

You have until 9:59 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, to have stationery orders delivered Friday, July 13. Stationery orders are delivered once a month. Orders made after 10 a.m. on July 3 will be delivered in August. Due to the upcoming University rebranding, 2017–18 stationery prices will remain in effect throughout the summer. Matt Benton, assistant professor of philosophy, published “Revitalizing the Epistemology of Religion” in the Oxford University blog. His article was based on the book Knowledge, Belief, and God: New Insights in Religious Epistemology, which he co-edited with John Hawthorne and Dani Rabinowitz. Read his blog post online.

Jeff Keuss, professor of Christian ministry, theology, and culture, was one of three church leaders who spoke to Bill Radke for his program, The Record, on KUOW-FM (94.9), on June 13. Radke asked the panelists about church-going in Seattle, and if Seattle Christian churches should get involved in politics. Listen to the program.

The essay, “How to Build a Whale,” by Peter Moe, assistant professor of English and director of campus writing, was published in the June 2018 issue of Out There Outdoors. Read his essay online.

Brad Murg, assistant professor of political science and director of Global Development Studies, has been appointed Distinguished Fellow at the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) in Phnom Penh in recognition of his “services to the university and to the development of higher education in Cambodia.” This summer, Brad is in residence at RULE, where he will be teaching a graduate seminar, The Political Economy of Development, and directing three MA theses in the university’s graduate school.

In recognition of her service to the SPU community, Lynne Hall, executive assistant to the vice president for University Advancement, was nominated by her peers and selected by Staff Council as the June Staff Member of the Month.
