LEIF ERIKSON DAY CELEBRATION @ SWEDISH CULTURAL CENTER

Leif Erikson Day lecture on the lobby floor. A panel of two local individuals working to build authentic Viking ships: Jay Haavik, from Seattle, carving manager on the Oseberg Ship replica construction in Tønsberg, Norway, and Geoff Briggs, building a Viking replica ship in Anacortes. (student rate $5)

VIKING LECTURE. Viking expert Dr. Kenneth Harl from Tulane University returns to the Swedish Cultural Center. His topic will be “Markets and Coins in the Viking Age.” (This is an  excerpt from a Viking Series college course)

ANNUAL YULEFEST @ the NORDIC HERITAGE MUSEUM (NHM)

Join the Nordic Club for the festivities of a Scandinavian Christmas at the NHM in Ballard. This annual Christmas celebration features sixty craft booths, music, food, and dance. Meet in front of the Alumni Office at 2 PM to carpool. Christmas party to follow near campus...contact club leaders for details. Opportunities for volunteering at the Museum are also be available //www.nordicmuseum.org. Admission $2, on-site parking $1

Join the Nordic Club for a fun day of skiing, sledding, and more at the Trollhaugen Lodge on Stampede Pass. $10 includes cost of ski rental and meals, but you'll need to provide your transportation. Norwegian Independence Day "Syttende Mai" parade in Ballard! Join the largest parade outside of Norway as thousands come out to watch. Line up behind the Nordic Club Banner on NW 62nd and 24th NW @ 5:45 PM.
