Forum on Educational Issues
The School of Education (SOE) at Seattle Pacific University invites you to attend an intimate conversation with Dr. Robert Marzano on teacher evaluation models that improve student achievement. In addition, Dr. Thomas Alsbury, School of Education, will facilitate a discussion between Dr. Marzano and doctoral students, brainstorming research opportunities on teacher evaluation models and their implications for doctoral studies. The forum is sponsored by the School of Education’s national UCEA Center for Research on the Superintendency and District Governance.

Starting in 2012, school districts in the state of Washington are required to select a Teacher Evaluation Instrument. Among the available choices is the Causal Teacher Evaluation Model developed by Dr. Robert J. Marzano, cofounder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory in Englewood, Colorado. |
Dr. Marzano is a nationally recognized researcher, speaker, trainer in education, and author of more than 30 books and 150 articles on topics such as instruction, assessment, writing and implementing standards, cognition, effective leadership, and school intervention. His practical translations of the most current research and theory into classroom strategies are internationally known and widely practiced by both teachers and administrators.
