The Center for Applied Learning's Mentor Program at SPU has openings for volunteers interested in working with students studying in more than 35 different academic programs -- including business, global development, medicine, graphic design, dietetics, and fashion.
The University's goal is to connect students with professionals willing to commit their time, skills, and expertise through consistent one-on-one relationships with students, helping the students achieve their academic and career goals.
Potential volunteers may be asked by the University to serve either as mentors or as job-shadow hosts.
SPU also provides a multi-mentor format called a Career 360, in which a volunteer makes multiple professional connections on behalf of a student.
Since this program was launched, more than 1,500 business people and other professionals have served as Seattle Pacific mentors. They come from a variety of companies, industries, roles, and levels of experience.
