Daniel & Pam & Boys,
It is exciting to think that God has led you all on this path to Inauguration Day @ SPU! Of course, nothing is arbitrary with our God Who plans big-scale events--forming the foundations of the earth--to smaller but just as important events like implementing & equipping a Godly leader for SPU. Our daughter Mariel has gleaned much from her college experience--from participating in malaria clinics in Malawi, Africa, to being involved in Advancement Core & Latrea. Her passion to make things better on this planet has been nurtured & fueled by SPU's approach & mission. THANKS in advance for all your blood, sweat & tears--and hopefully not too many sleepless nights! Our prayers go before your bold path...In Jesus' BIG Love, The Rielands

Congratulations on your inauguration as President of SPU from the Free Methodist churches in the Gateway Conference. The shared vision of the Christian academy and the church for transformation of the culture through Jesus Christ must compel all of us to greater diligence, prayer and partnership. I am delighted to share in all of those with you and the wonderful faculty, staff, students and leaders of SPU.

Dear President Martin: One of the things I have most admired about SPU is it's goal to "confront the culture." As more and more Christians, especially in higher education, reflect the values and views of modern culture at large, I challenge you to lead SPU in a way that encourages the coming generation to uphold the historic, Biblical world view that is central to our faith. Blessings on your leadership.

As an alum who has returned to SPU's campus to join the staff, I am incredibly encouraged and personally blessed by the passion, dedication and breath of fresh air that you have brought to campus. From the moment you came to campus it was clear that big things are in store and you are the leader our University needs to bring it to the next level. Interacting with students, staff and faculty has made it abundantly clear to me that you are pouring yourself into the life and heart of SPU, and that in turn is already making an enormous difference in the lives of each individual who is part of SPU. Hearing you speak in a number of different settings so far has made me excited to be part of the staff/faculty side of the University -- to be in on the ground level of the growth, life and change you are bringing to SPU.

Thank you for your committment to SPU, and may God bless you (and your family) in all facets of life. I know you have become part of SPU for a reason and we are all so excited to see what God has instore!

God bless and plese know we are all praying for you and your family in this continued time of transition and newness!
