Undergraduate Instructions

Students at Ivy Cutting

BEFORE YOU GRADUATE

There are important steps you must take before you graduate (further instructions provided below):

  • Register for Commencement
  • Order your regalia
  • Pick up your regalia
  • Pick up your Commencement tickets

REGISTRATION

You must register online for Commencement:

  • Log onto Banner
  • Choose "Student Menu"
  • Choose "Graduation Menu"
  • Choose "Graduation Events Sign-up"

TICKETS

Registration is how you will receive tickets for the Commencement ceremony, as tickets are required for entrance into Alaska Airlines Arena. Tickets can only be requested and distributed by you, the student. Each graduating student will be issued 11 tickets for the Commencement ceremony: a book of 10 tickets to distribute to your guests and one student ticket for yourself.

Likewise, you will receive four Ivy Cutting rain plan tickets, in case we need to move Ivy Cutting indoors.

You can pick your tickets up at Grad Fest, on April 9, or thereafter, in the Registration Office in Demaray 151. You must pick up all of your tickets by end-of-day Tuesday, May 28. Any tickets not picked up by May 28 will be offered in a lottery to students seeking additional tickets, starting Wednesday, May 29.

If you have extra tickets to share, please return them to the Registration Office (Demaray 151). For each ticket you return, your name will be entered into a drawing for cool prizes (i.e. reserved VIP seating for your guests at the Commencement ceremony). Likewise, if you give away any of your tickets to fellow graduates in need of additional ones, please email graduationinfo@spu.edu, and let us know how many tickets you gave away. We will then add you into the drawing that way as well.

Please store all tickets in a safe place, as there will be no replacement tickets available.

If you have any issues or questions associated with registration or tickets for Commencement, please contact Student Academic Services at 206-281-2031 or sasinfo@spu.edu.

ORDERING REGALIA

You must order your regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) by Friday, March 1. See the cap and gown page for more information.

PICKING UP REGALIA

If your regalia order is placed by March 1, your regalia will be ready to pick up at Grad Fest on Tuesday, April 9. If you do not purchase your regalia by March 1, you will be able to purchase it at the SPU Bookstore at a higher price point. See the cap and gown page for more information.
