Autumn Quarter 2020
Wednesday, September 9
1:30 p.m.
We gather each year at the start of Autumn Quarter to prepare, worship, and cast a vision for the future. We’ll do it again this year, joining together online to experience encouragement along with other members of the SPU community. After all, it’s 2020!
Opening Communion
After a short devotional reflection from our University Chaplain, Rev. Lisa Ishihara, we will be invited to take communion and/or receive a blessing together from wherever we find ourselves.
You are welcome to use your own elements if this fits with your church tradition or, if you’re on campus, pick up a prepackaged cup/wafer from Rev. Kelsey Rorem and Chaplain Lisa on either Tuesday, Sept. 8, or Wednesday, Sept. 9 between noon and 1 p.m. in Martin Square. If you need accommodations, contact University Ministries at umin@spu.edu.
The State of the University
As he does each year, SPU President Dan Martin will share his assessment of where the University stands today, and his vision for where we’re going tomorrow.
How and when to join in
You can access the Opening Communion service and State of the University address on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 1:30 p.m. You will be asked to sign in with your University credentials.
Life together
It is regrettable that we will not be able to join together in person this year for fellowship and refreshments, but we do hope that you will be able to join for the events noted. The link to the State of the University will also remain active for you to view until September 15.
Be sure not to miss this time together as we look to what God has in store for Seattle Pacific in the year ahead!
