Professor’s New Research

Want to know if a man is attracted to you? See if he slows down to walk with you. A researcher at Seattle Pacific University says men tend to slow down when walking with their female romantic partner, but not if they are walking with a woman who is a friend or acquaintance.

Recently published in the scientific journal PLOS ONE, research by Biology Professor Cara Wall-Scheffler and student Janelle Wagnild showed the status of a relationship influences how fast people walk together. Generally, men walk more quickly when walking alone or with another man. If would seem they would slow down when walking with women, who generally walk slower. But their research shows that men only slow down when they are walking with their romantic partner.
