The program focuses on the exploration of creative solutions in communication using digital media processes, typography, form development, and information design with print, motion, UI/UX, and time–based media.

Through the Visual Communication program, you will become a thoroughly trained, competent designer educated in traditional and contemporary media and grounded by historical and cultural knowledge.

Courses and requirements

As a Visual Communication major, you will be required to take at least 99 credits, including at least 30 upper-division credits. Review all of the courses and requirements. With this emphasis, as a condition of graduation, you are required to participate in a Visual Communication Portfolio Exhibition during Spring Quarter of your senior year.
