Shakespeare

Mischa Willett

MWF 2:30-3:50 p.m.

If you fear Shakespeare or have been bored while reading his plays before, don’t worry: This course will make you love Shakespeare, or at least appreciate his genius. You’ll also learn how he’s the source for every novel you’ve read by Jane Austen (who was called in her time the “Nineteenth Century’s Shakespeare”); every gender-bending rom-com you’ve grazed on Netflix; every story you’ve heard featuring a “band of brothers” (Shakespeare’s phrase); and every tune you’ve streamed by an emo singer-songwriter (inspired by Hamlet).
