Valuation Challenge Goes National

Herbert Kierulff

The third annual BVR/SPU Valuation Challenge has gone national! More than a dozen universities have signed up to send their best teams of finance students to compete at SPU. The faculty contact for the Valuation Challenge is SPU's Donald Snellman Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance Herb Kierulff.

The Valuation Competition requires the valuation of an actual private company leveraging data and resources provided by Portland's Business Valuation Resources (BVR). Judging is provided by Moss Adams LLP and other valuation firms.

SPU has been teaching valuation courses for many years; the Valuation Challenge is particularly significant because it focuses on privately held companies rather than publicly traded companies. Read more about the Valuation challenge and follow Dr. Kierulff's Twitter feed @ValueChallenge.
