Education: BA, Psychology and Theology, Valparaiso University, 1985; MEd, Seattle University, 1993. At SPU since 2012.

Carla Orlando serves as an instructor and a vocational discernment counselor for the Center for Career and Calling. She is also an adjunct faculty member and coach in the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University. Currently, Carla acts as a retreat and spiritual director in the greater Seattle area, and serves on summer faculty at the Grünewald Guild for art and faith.

Carla has received training, licensing, and ongoing supervision through the PRH International School of Adult Development, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd–USA, and the Spiritual Exercises of Everyday Life–Puget Sound. From 1995 to 1999, she also served as the director of the Collegia Program at Seattle University, where she created an innovative, award-winning program that provides a supportive community to under-served commuter and transfer students.

As an active member of St. Therese Parish–Madrona, Carla serves as a volunteer catechist in the Atrium for children. She currently lives in Seattle and enjoys swimming, art, and sharing the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and twin daughters.
