Education: BFA, Graphic Design, University of Washington 1977. At SPU since 2008.
Pat Parsons is a Pacific Northwest local who grew up in Pierce County in present-day Lakewood, Washington. In 1977, she earned a bachelor of fine arts in Graphic Design from the University of Washington. Upon graduating, Pat dedicated the first seven years of her career to art direction and advertising management. When her first child was born, she transitioned to freelance design and illustration. As her kids entered school, she dedicated herself to directing large, volunteer-driven endeavors, including an all-school tile mural project, after-school enrichment classes, and design for newsletters and programs for the parent-teacher association and band boosters.
She eventually returned to part-time work in graphic design and office administration. She joined Seattle Pacific University full time the same year her third, and youngest, child started college. Pat currently serves as the program manager in the Center for Career and Calling.
In her spare time, Pat enjoys reading, journaling, gardening, and planning adventures and gatherings with family and friends. She also loves walking and hiking with her husband and golden retriever.
