Citizens Advisory Committee Notes

In March 2020, the Seattle City Council appointed a new Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to succeed the former Standing Advisory Committee (SAC) and to assist the University in the development of a new Major Institution Master Plan (MIMP).

A City of Seattle committee overseen by its Department of Neighborhoods, the primary goals of the CAC are to:

  • Promote a balance between the needs for institutional growth and stability and the needs to protect the livability of the surrounding community from the impacts of institutional growth
  • Provide a forum for community involvement in the development of the master plan
  • Assist the City of Seattle and Seattle Pacific University in the promotion of a positive and cooperative relationship between the University and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Following an initial orientation meeting on August 4, 2020, the CAC meets the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, meetings are currently held virtually. Access links for CAC meetings are posted in advance by the Department of Neighborhoods.

Meeting notes and other pertinent documents from each meeting will be posted to this page.
