General Guidance
Your department budget manager is a good first stop for guidance on creating your budget. OSP and the Finance Office can also provide assistance, time permitting.
In addition to providing general support on grant writing, The Foundation Center also offers useful budget development tools.
The NIH Central Resource for Grants and Funding Information is particularly useful when applying for federal grants. It clarifies common questions regarding cost considerations, detailed vs. modular budgets, and allowable expenses, and also provides an overview of budgetary requirements with consortium/subawards.
