Bethanee primarily grew up in Rockford, Illinois but completed high school and her undergraduate degree in central Florida. After high school, Bethanee attended Saint Leo University near Tampa, Florida to get her BA in business communications management. During her undergraduate work, Bethanee had the privilege to be a student leader on various fronts. From her sophomore-senior year of college, Bethanee worked for the Office of Residence Life as a resident advisor and a resident advisor director. Following her undergraduate commencement, Bethanee moved to the Maryland/Washington D.C. area to work on her Masters of Professional Studies (MPS) in Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Georgetown University. She anticipates finishing her post-graduate degree in May 2019. During Bethanee’s time at Georgetown, she continued to work in higher education. At Georgetown, she worked as a graduate assistant for the Marketing & Communications Degree cluster and the Office of Residential Living. While working for Georgetown’s Office of Residential Living, Bethanee focused on residential conduct. Bethanee concentrated her efforts on how to more effectively communicate the educational aspects of residential conduct to students. The highlight of her experience at Georgetown was effectively utilizing her communications background to build relationships with students, staff, and faculty from different backgrounds.
Bethanee is overjoyed to be at Seattle Pacific University in a role that allows her to continue to use effective communication to build relationships with students and foster an inclusive environment. When she is not working, Bethanee enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and exploring.
