2022 SPRINT Immersive Engagement



John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation Pilgrimage:  

June 16th - June 23rd, 2022  (Limited to 10-15 students)


Students will get to learn about the life and legacy of Dr. John Perkins through a pilgrimage through places that have shaped his formation of Christian Community Development. Participants will get a glimpse of John Perkins' humble beginnings in segregated Mississippi, his advocacy in the Civil Rights movement, his catalytic experience in the Brandon County Jail, and more firsthand from Elizabeth Perkins, his daughter. After learning about Dr. Perkins in Jackson, we will visit other important sites including Selma Bridge, and the EJI Museum and Memorial. Apply Here!


Instead of traveling abroad this year, SPRINT will visit the John Perkins Foundation for a pilgrimage visit to Jackson, Mississippi. As COVID has allowed us to reshape our program, we hope to strengthen students' understanding of Christian Community Development principles, and partnerships. We hope to that this shift will allow us to explore more global themes through values of
