Early Connections 2023

SPU early connectsions students 2022

If you are a student from a historically underrepresented background or are the first in your family to attend a four-year university, Early Connections Orientation may be for you. Early Connections 2023 will be Friday–Sunday, Sept. 8–10.

Early Connections Orientation

Early Connections Orientation is an event that runs concurrent with Seattle Pacific University’s New Student Orientation. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends, participate in fun activities, and establish a family of support from day one. It’s especially beneficial for incoming students who:

  • Are from culturally diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Will be a first-generation college student.
  • Were part of an AVID, College Bound, TRIO or similar college-readiness program.

Ongoing Early Connections

Early Connections doesn’t end after orientation. EC hosts quarterly events throughout the year that promote community, information and resource sharing, and leadership development such as EC family dinners, movie nights, study abroad panels, financial and academic support workshops, and more!

Even if you didn’t attend EC Orientation, you can join Early Connections at any time by stopping by the Multi-Ethnic Programs office located on the second floor of the Student Union building or by contacting mep@spu.com.

“I found my transition from high school to college significantly easier with Early Connections. I created relationships with others, so I didn’t feel so alone. As a first-generation student, I met people I could turn to for support.”
