Check-in and Move-in

Upper Gwinn and Residential Areas

Students registered for Early Connections have priority check in and move in from 9:30-10 a.m. Students with last names A–L can move in between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and those with last names M–Z can move in between 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Commuter students are welcome to check in between 3-4:30pm.

  • On-campus residential students: Check-in held in Upper Gwinn for all residential halls and apartments. Access to your residence hall will be available only starting at your scheduled check-in time and not before.
  • Commuter students: Our commuter students are expected to attend the full Orientation program and can check-in Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m to explore the campus and attend the Welcome Dinner in the evening.

SPU’s many dining options are open for lunch this afternoon! Students and families are invited to explore Gwinn Commons, our campus dining hall, and other on-campus dining options. Additional costs for students and their guests apply.

 

1–5 p.m.

Students will be able to sign up for a check-in window later in the summer after housing assignments are released. Access to your residence hall will only be available starting at your scheduled check-in time and not before.
  • Commuter students: Our commuter students are expected to attend the full Orientation program and can check in Friday from 3-4:30pm to explore the campus and attend the Welcome Dinner in the evening.

Welcome Dinner

Enjoy a complimentary locally catered dinner and connect with other new students and their families. Dinner times are assigned to students and their guests according to their check-in times. If you have a morning check-in time (9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.), you’ll be invited to begin dinner at 5:30 p.m. If your student has an afternoon check-in time (1:30–4:30 p.m.), you’ll be invited to begin dinner at 6 p.m.
