5th Ave streetscape
Come meet your Orientation leader and your Colloquium faculty member to start building connections to the academic and campus community. Students are encouraged to prepare by looking at their Autumn Quarter schedule to see where their classes will be held.
Enjoy a variety of local flavors as you meet other students and families at this complimentary lunch. Students meet back up with their Orientation leaders. Make sure to wear your lanyard — that’s your entrance ticket!
New Student Convocation
One of the bookend traditions at SPU, this formal ceremony of initiation and adoption into the SPU community is led by faculty members robed in traditional academic regalia.
The family and guest portion of Orientation concludes at the end of New Student Convocation- This is a great time for students to connect one last time with their families and take photos, finalize any details, and to pray together as they step into this next phase of their journeys.
Meet in the Loop for music, giveaways, and a pep rally; and then “march to the match” at Wallace Field for dinner. Along the way be ready to pick up lots of Falcon swag and once at the game get your official Falcon student shirt!
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, dress for the weather, and email firstname.lastname@example.org for accessibility needs.
