This workshop looks at how young children learn to read and write. It teaches you how to build on their natural interest and enthusiasm to learn needed literacy skills. We will create a Library Center that invites children to read and write through self-directed activities that are fun for them; one that offers variety attracting the children to use it. Finally, we will look at how to assess the literacy acquired by the children in the classroom.
