Winning Them Over: A Guide To Classroom Management (Grades K-12)

Of the many variables impacting student learning, classroom management has the greatest effect. The goals of classroom management are to create a caring environment filled with self-managed learners who believe "I can, I care, and I count!" Participants in this workshop will receive many concrete ideas on how to establish these conditions for learning.

This workshop will describe how to increase student learning by:

  • Bonding and connecting with students
  • Organizing time and space in the classroom to maximize listening and learning opportunities
  • Teaching applied learning strategies (learning to learn)
  • Integrating self-management skills into the existing curriculum
  • Minimizing misbehavior
