Creating Writers: Using The Six-Trait Scoring Guide as a Teaching Tool (Grades 3-10)

In this workshop, participants will learn to use the six-trait writing scoring guide to improve all aspects of student writing, from idea generation to editing. Learn to evaluate student writing fairly and quickly, and to teach students the traits of good writing. Materials include a year's worth of teaching ideas.

  • Transferring the responsibility and skill of editing to the student
  • Preparing students for writing required on all parts of WASL
