The friendly atmosphere in Ashton Hall makes all of its residents feel at home. Ashton is SPU’s largest residence hall, and its hilltop setting offers a striking view of the campus and the Lake Washington Ship Canal.
Annual events include the Ashton Cup (a lip-sync contest), Open Mic Nights, and a formal ball (which was held at the Space Needle in 2012). Its hall council is known for creative and thought-provoking programming.
Ashton is an ideal place for both studying and relaxing. It boasts a renovated lounge and convenient exercise room. With more than 400 students, you’ll have many opportunities for making new friends.
Opened in 1965 and originally named Upper Residence Hall, Ashton was renamed in honor of Dr. Philip F. Ashton for his service as psychology professor at Seattle Pacific University from 1929 to 1971.
