Welcome to the Student Counseling Center website. The staff of the SCC are dedicated to student well-being and providing services collaboratively with compassion, respect, and sensitivity to students' unique challenges and cultural backgrounds.

The SCC is staffed by Masters and Doctoral level professional licensed counselors, a registered dietitian, Professional Graduate Student Interns (in a professional Masters program) and Professional Counseling Externs (recently graduated from a professional Masters program) who provide counseling assessments, referrals, brief therapy, relational counseling, nutritional counseling and more.

SCC SUMMER STATUS:  June 20th to August 31st, 2016:

We have therapists available during the summer months although the Student Counseling Center is not fully operational over the summer.  If you are an SPU undergraduate and are either:

(1) Taking summer classes  OR

(2) Were enrolled in the Spring Quarter and plan to enroll in the upcoming Fall Quarter,

we are available to you to provide a counseling assessment.  If there is space available and your situation is such that SCC services are appropriate for your needs, counseling services may be provided as well.

Since we are only open this summer on a scheduled-appointment basis, it is best to call our central number (206) 281-2657 to schedule an assessment appointment.  When you call, please press 0 to leave a message for our summer staff with your name and number and the best time to reach you.

Have a great summer!

  • For SPU graduate students: we are available for professional referrals to various community-based services, therapists, or organizations. Many of these mental health professionals are committed to reducing their fees for enrolled SPU students.
