Undergraduate Commencement Schedule


Ivy Cutting

Friday, June 13

9:30–10:30 a.m., Tiffany Loop

Ivy Cutting has been part of graduation rites at SPU since 1922. The ceremony represents both the students' tie to SPU and the independence that comes with graduation.


Friday, June 13

7:30–8:30 p.m., Royal Brougham Pavilion

Baccalaureate is an informal worship service shared by graduates and their families, friends, and professors.


Description: Commencement

Saturday, June 14

1–3:30 p.m., Key Arena

Commencement is a time-honored ceremony that recognizes the scholarship, service, and Christian growth of graduating students. It is the celebratory service where students, faculty, friends, parents, relatives, and staff congratulate students on their new beginning.


Arena doors will open at 11:45 p.m.  Tickets (free) are required for all guests (age 3 and over), and can be picked up at Student Academic Services.

Drop-in Debrief

Monday Thursday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Collegium

Student Counseling Center staff are available for drop-in appointments Monday-Thursday. Individuals and groups are encouraged to come.

Therapy Dogs

Monday Thursday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Tiffany Loop

Therapy dogs will be in Tiffany Loop Monday-Thursday this week.


Spring Rites Concert

10:30 a.m.–1 p.m., First Free Methodist Church

A come-and-go-as-you-will concert featuring Music Theory VI students performing their original, creative compositions as their final exit exam. For more information, please contact Brian Chin.

Housing & Gwinn Closures

- Gwinn Closes for Summer Break at 6pm on Thursday.

- Undergraduates must check out of residence halls by 4 p.m. on Friday.

- Graduating seniors must check out of campus housing by 1 p.m. on Sunday.

SPU Payment Plan is Online

The 2014-2015 Payment Plan application is available to all students online through their Banner Information System account after they have registered for their Autumn Quarter courses. The payment plan divides a student's quarterly charges into three equal installments per quarter. The application deadline is September 8th, 2014. Read more about payment options and methods. Study Tables

Come study with peer tutors and other students! At Study Tables you can ask questions, review class content, learn effective study strategies, and gain confidence. Tutoring is FREE and located in the Center for Learning (CFL) in Lower Moyer Hall unless otherwise noted.

Brougham Weight Room Closure

The Office of Student Life and Athletics Department announces the closure of the weight room in Royal Brougham May 15-mid July for remodeling. The cardio room, main gym, upper gym and Wallace Field will remain open. Students living on campus will continue to have access to the Hill and Emerson Rex Centers. Stay tuned for discounts for students at local recreational facilities.
