Rare Three-Way Tie for Athlete of the Year

FOR ONLY THE SECOND time in 44 years, Seattle Pacific University’s Athlete of the Year honors are being shared three ways. Stephanie Huffman, track and field All-American, won a share of the award for the third time, and was joined by national championship rower Trisha Sawatzky and all-conference basketball player Nick Johnson.

Also honored at the May 28 sports awards banquet were five seniors for their career achievement in athletics, academics and leadership. Earning the Falcon Award for Excellence were Huffman, Johnson, rower Mike Lucero, soccer standout Erik Skipper and record-setting basketball star Brannon Stone.
