The new Interbay
Soccer Stadium was dedicated prior to the Falcons' September 24 contest
with Puget Sound. "After decades of great soccer teams at SPU, we finally
have a home field," said Seattle Pacific University President Philip
Eaton in a pregame address. Added City Council Member Sue Donaldson, who
assisted Eaton in the ribbon-cutting, "This is a great facility, one
worthy of [the Falcons'] accomplishments."
The $3.3 million project was a joint venture between SPU and the Seattle
Parks and Recreation Department. It was largely funded by private donations
to the University, including a $2 million lead grant from the M.J. Murdock
Charitable Trust.

For the first time in Cliff McCrath's 28 seasons at SPU, his
squad has a regulation home field. |
