SPU Falcon comes home to roostThe new Interbay Soccer Stadium was dedicated prior to the Falcons' September 24 contest with Puget Sound. "After decades of great soccer teams at SPU, we finally have a home field," said Seattle Pacific University President Philip Eaton in a pregame address. Added City Council Member Sue Donaldson, who assisted Eaton in the ribbon-cutting, "This is a great facility, one worthy of [the Falcons'] accomplishments."

The $3.3 million project was a joint venture between SPU and the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department. It was largely funded by private donations to the University, including a $2 million lead grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust.
