SPU's powerful new transmission
electron microscope, donated by Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los
Angeles, will aid student researchers in biology, microbiology and
materials chemistry. A focused beam of electrons allows scientists to
"see through" the material and examine the fine details of the interior
structure.
