Greet the Alumna of the Year at Homecoming and

Family Weekend!

ALUMNA OF THE YEAR Marilyn Meberg described her visit to SPU last year as “coming home.” And she’ll join thousands of other alumni returning to Seattle Pacific University February 3–5 for the 2005 Homecoming and Family Weekend.

All those who attend Homecoming and Family Weekend will experience a very special celebration with the theme, “To whom much has been given …” At the President’s Alumni Luncheon on Saturday, February 5, President Philip Eaton will spotlight this theme, giving thanks for the culmination of several multiyear initiatives that have given SPU a new platform in the world of Christian higher education. And he’ll ask the question, “What are we going to do with the blessings we’ve been given?”

The three-day celebration will also honor the life and accomplishments of Meberg, a Seattle Pacific alumna who knows how to celebrate life’s blessings and overcome its hardships. The humorist, author, and Women of Faith conference speaker will deliver her unique brand of wit and wisdom at the Homecoming Chapel and Alumna of the Year Luncheon on Thursday, February 3.

Homecoming reunions for the classes of 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2000 are scheduled throughout the day on Saturday. In the afternoon, the always-competitive SPU basketball teams will demonstrate why the Falcons are among the Great Northwest Athletic Conference’s best. And if that’s not enough adrenaline, you can always watch or enter the Row and Run on the Ship Canal.

Theatregoers are in for a powerful performance when A Man for All Seasons takes the stage in E.E. Bach Theatre for four Homecoming performances, including a 2:00 p.m. Saturday matinee. The Tony Award-winning play is a striking examination of faith and loyalty played out in the reign of Henry VIII.

Watch for complete Homecoming details to arrive in your mailbox after Christmas. Or call 206/281-ALUM for more information.
