Prepaid Tuition Plan Benefits Families

LAST YEAR, SEATTLE Pacific University joined nearly 300 other independent universities such as Stanford, Vassar, and Westmont to offer a plan for parents who want to save for their children’s college tuition on a tax-free basis.

“Independent 529 Plan allows parents to lock in future tuition at a discount from today’s prices through the purchase of tuition certificates,” says SPU Vice President for Business and Planning Don Mortenson. “It’s the most highly effective plan of its kind that I’ve seen for those families who believe that private higher education is the place to send their sons and daughters.”
