Action steps: Measure CFL usage and experience of students who are BIPOC and/or have disabilities through an annual survey. Conduct course grade gap analysis using multiple student identity categories (including race/ethnicity, gender, and income/class) to determine which classes the CFL will support through free tutoring. Conduct thorough review of CFL website, social media, language, quotes, images, and resources used in trainings, workshops, and class curriculums for inclusiveness.

Collaborate with OIEX to implement the Search Advocate program.

Action steps: Review and revise Library Strategic Plan and Assessment Framework. Review job descriptions and position announcements as well as recruitment, interview, and onboarding processes for all positions, including student workers. Create a professional development and mentorship program for student employee retention to help increase pool of future candidates. Facilitate professional development opportunities and provide regular input into staff meeting agendas through the Library Diversity Committee. Encourage and fund staff participation in Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), including consultation and creation of an Intercultural Plan incorporated into Professional Development Plans. Incorporate Professional Development Plan recommendations from Faculty Diversity Committee. Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) teaching practices in the library's instructional program. Develop criteria for reviewing the Information Studies syllabi around diverse resources. Promote inclusive pedagogies in non-library faculty professional development programs. Partner with faculty to identify and select diverse learning resources. Advocate for adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER). Conduct DEI analysis of library collection. Identify and implement best practices regarding signage and space to increase access to library facilities. Create a DEI style guide for library documentation and communications and review existing documentation. Identify a survey instrument for collecting feedback from patrons to use in 2021-22. Continue advocacy for University Design for Learning including captioning, document structure, contrasting colors in presentations. Regularly review and address student technology needs. Provide activities in which international and domestic students are invited to engage with one another. Encourage language partners with domestic language learners. Work with University leadership to create vision for global engagement.

Review policies and practices of the department with a lens of diversity and reconciliation (including, but not limited to, hiring, performance review, and academic policies). Create a best practices document that will guide the department's approach to the work of SAS in general, with specific attention paid to how the values of equity, inclusion, and diversity play out within work (such as through messaging, communication, barriers, etc.). Form a Diversity and Equity Committee.

Revise the SCC mission statement to more accurately reflect the current work and values of the SCC as it relates to DEI. Provide educational training for staff, including focus on DEI as it pertains to the clinical work, staff culture, and broader SPU context.

Build on shared knowledge from the workshop to create an onboarding program for new hires. Develop a best practices document that guides the department's work in an equitable and accessible way. Implement quarterly conversations about a selected article/video focused on diversity and cultural competency.

Action steps: Sacred Sounds of Christmas 2021 (Behold!) will be produced to include diverse representation to reflect Revelations 7:9 in diversity of alumni age, musical genres, and racial diversity. Intentional diversification of alumni award honorees. Increasing First Generation and Alumni of Color online engagement. Immediate hiring goals focusing on student worker staff. Expand reach out to faculty members who can promote Advancement job opportunities by proactively connecting with alumni of color who may be prospective applicants and inform them of the role. Develop practices and policies that proactively allow for communication around concerns of biases, storytelling practices, and microaggressions.

Action Steps: Assess camera set-up for card imaging to determine if it can be made more wheelchair accessible. Participate in gender identity and preferred name discussions and research card options so that if changes are required, they can be implemented quickly. Work with SAS and SFS to determine a process for identifying undocumented students and how to process their ID card. Research options to address student food insecurity, discuss options with Sodexo, and work with stakeholders to discuss options and implementation.
