Many strategies are utilized within healthcare systems to improve quality and safety. This course will focus on understanding systems of benchmarks, outcomes, and quality indicators to improve care and develop sustainable methods. In order to analyze quality, students will focus on the components and attributes of settings, the process of practices, and the impact of care on health status. Management practices will be discussed as these lead to improvement in healthcare quality and safety. Students will be expected to review different system models and develop a plan within their specialty area (may include clinical internship hours).
