An introductory seminar providing an overview of health informatics including applications for care delivery, use of data for health promotion, planning and evaluation of health outcomes. Provides a foundation for informatics concepts and competencies integrated into subsequent course offerings. Includes topics regarding terminology, framework for knowledge, clinical information systems, information literacy, legal and ethical dimensions, and new technologies for patient- and healthcare systems.
