ORG 6001: Faith, Meaning, and Professional Foundations (2026-2027)

Examines the concepts of work, leadership, vocation, and faith from a Christian theological perspective. Reviews the research on the spirituality inherent in work, the historic perspective on the religious implications of work, the nature of work vis a' vis other life realms, and definitions and implications of vocation. Further, explores the practice of Industrial-Organizational Psychology and issues related to professional standards, ethics, and relationship to clients. Special attention is paid to the student as a developing professional and instrument of organizational change. Students engage in significant personal reflection and preparation for facilitating flourishing work communities. A component of the Masters Portfolio is completed in this course.
