    Need some help writing your final papers? Come to "Write @ the Library!" The SPU Writing Center will be set up behind the Library Reference desk with a big bowl of candy and lots of ideas and resources to help you start, write, revise, and finish your paper.

  • Holiday Hours - Thanksgiving

    In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, on Wednesday the 25th of November the Library will close at 6:00 p.m. and be closed Thursday and Friday, the 26th and 27th. The Library will be open from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday the 28th, and 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Sunday the 29th. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Join us on Thursday, November 19th, from 12-12:50 p.m. in the Library Reading Room, for Creative Conversations. Professor of Nursing Dr. Bomin Shim will describe experiences of husbands and wives who care for their spouses through the advanced stages of dementia. Dr. Shim will relate how giving such care can both take a large emotional toll, and also yield deeply meaningful experiences. Bring your curiosity and join in conversations about the discovery, creation, and sharing of knowledge. Light snacks will be provided.

Professor of Education, Dr. Richard Scheuerman will speak about strategies of adoption for the worldwide orphan population, which taken as a whole would constitute the planet’s seventh largest nation. Dr. Scheuerman will discuss how various SPU students and Alumni are contributing to the effort to meet these great needs. Bring your curiosity and join in conversations about the discovery, creation, and sharing of knowledge. Light snacks will be provided.
