COVID-19 Admissions Changes
We know that the COVID-19 outbreak has caused disruptions in visiting colleges, completing applications on time, taking standardized tests, and more. Rest assured, Seattle Pacific University is here for you. Below are some of the changes we’ve made to our regular application process to help.
Changes to Autumn 2020 application requirements
Applicants for the Autumn 2020 term are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores if they were unable to take the test due to COVID-19 and will still receive consideration for most merit scholarships. (However, applicants who have official test results should consider submitting their results, as in many cases this information can strengthen their application and positively impact admission and merit scholarship decisions.) Please contact the admissions office to receive the waiver.
Applicants submitting high school transcripts with pass/fail grades will still be reviewed for admission. The pass/fail grades will not be included in the overall GPA calculation.
English proficiency scores
Seattle Pacific requires a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 79.The TOEFL iBT is currently available in an “at-home” version to students in the United States, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong, and Macau. Students residing in a country other than one of these nine countries may take the Duolingo English test. A minimum Duolingo score for admission is 105. Other options may be available; please consult with International Student Admissions for more information.
High school diplomas
Earning a high school diploma is required prior to beginning classes at Seattle Pacific. For students who were on track to graduate from high school prior to their school closure due to COVID-19, Seattle Pacific will recognize your high school diploma even if credits were waived by your school district. No changes will be made to admission or scholarship decisions as a result of a school district granting a waiver.
Changes to Autumn 2021 application requirements
Applicants for Autumn 2021 are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores and will still receive consideration for merit scholarships.
