Meet Tyanna

Admissions job: Providing students with information about SPU, as well as providing guidance and a hand to hold throughout making a life-changing decision!

Hometown: Queens, New York

Education: University of Kentucky for my undergraduate studies (major in Arts Administration/Non-Profit Management, minors in Music Theory and Music History). I'm currently enrolled in an online master’s degree program through Campbellsville University.

Favorite Seattle Restaurant: Din Tai Fung!

A trip I’d like to take: I would love to visit Turks and Caicos Islands or Italy

Favorite Movie: Someone Great on Netflix

Favorite thing about SPU: The campus is gorgeous, and the location is perfect, especially in the fall!

Advice for high school/transfer students: Make connections in college with students, staff, and faculty, and do not be afraid of growth! You are going to learn so much about yourself and your program during your time at school. If your perspectives on things in life begin to evolve, do not be afraid of the growth and learning something new about yourself. “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Hobbies & Fun Facts: I love to sing, play piano, and write music! I was a member of the Kentucky All-State Choir for two years, as well as a member of University of Kentucky Choirs and Acapella Groups for four years.Fun fact: I actually have really bad stage fright when it comes to solos!
