Ames Scholarship

At SPU, we consider a diverse community an asset. That’s why the Ames Scholarship was created to support high school graduates coming from traditionally underrepresented ethnic backgrounds.

What do we look for in an Ames Scholar?

The Ames Scholarship seeks to support students of color coming from the most underrepresented cultural and ethnic backgrounds. We believe these students will bring valuable life experiences to SPU and impact our campus greatly. We will consider students who have cross-cultural experiences, a desire to participate in leadership and on-campus activities, and a strong passion to pursue higher education. The award amounts vary.

There is no additional application to be considered for the Ames Scholarship. Apply to SPU as early as possible to receive priority consideration.

We will consider students who:

  • Have cross-cultural experiences.
  • Have a desire to participate in leadership and on-campus activities.
  • Have a strong passion to pursue higher education.

There is no additional application for this scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 1.

NOTE: Students currently attending Seattle Pacific are not eligible for the Ames Scholarship.
