This course will help the student to understand the tools, philosophy, and knowledge needed to succeed in the role of Engineering Manager. Focus will be placed on the process of taking a product from requirements to full production with emphasis on learning a practical tool set which can be applied to any aspect of technical or non-technical projects. Topics will include planning strategies, requirements definition, cost estimating and budgeting, schedule creation, resource and personnel management, communication, risk management, and contingency planning.
