BUS 3950: ST: Business as Glory to God (2025-2026)

View all BUS classes

In this class we will address three interrelated questions: 1. Is business an institution aimed at simply making money, or does it have a higher purpose that can bring glory to God? 2. Is it possible to run a business to the glory of God in the competitive market of the 21st century? 3. As you enter the business world, can you reflect some of the ideals of the first two questions even if you are not running your own business? We will lay the groundwork for the first question on Friday evening. On Saturday, we will do a case study to show that a business can be successful by many measures using the principles of running a business to the glory of God. We will conclude on Saturday afternoon with a discussion of how you can reflect these things even if you are only a small cog in a big company as you enter the workforce. May be repeated for credit up to 9 credits.
